About Judy

Judy is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over twenty-five years of experience treating a wide range of mental health concerns including mood disorders such as depression and anxiety, relationship issues, eating disorders, PTSD and trauma, grief and loss, and chronic pain. She enjoys working with children and teens, as well as young midlife, and older adults. She uses a multi-disciplinary, strength-based approach in her work, and has advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapies among other treatment modalities.

Judy believes in establishing a warm, accepting and trusting relationship with clients, so clients can more easily open up, receive support, and make the changes that will be most meaningful in their lives. She likes to take a more “hands on”, results-oriented approach to therapy--teaching skills, giving homework, and reinforcing the small changes that give us big results.

Judy lives in Portland with her husband of 30 years, an old cat and a new puppy. She has four adult children who are thriving and loves to explore the natural beauty of Oregon, biking, hiking, kayaking. But also enjoys lounging around reading, cooking and watching Netflix.
