Families

We all know that when one family member is struggling, everyone struggles. One of the greatest barriers of mental health treatment is the stigmatization that occurs to the individual identified as "mentally ill". Since mental health issues impact the entire family, it makes sense to treat the whole family. Our approach to counseling includes helping families adjust, realign and cope with trauma, anxiety, depression, and change that naturally impacts the whole family.

  • Research on family therapy and family counseling suggests that it is an ideal approach for the treatment of typically 'individual' mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. If you really think about this, it makes a lot of sense... Depression does not occur in a vacuum. It affects (and is impacted by) family and close friends.
  • Most commercial insurance plans, now provide coverage for family therapy.
  • Family counseling is an evidence-based treatment that has helped thousands of families cope with loss, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, eating disorders, trauma and more.
